Inter win Italian Cup after a Lautaro Martínez brace
26.05.23 / 08:19
Inter won the Italian Cup for the ninth time, a trophy it held, by beating Fiorentina in the final, by 2-1, and equaled Roma, in a ranking led by Juventus, with 14 trophies.
The Florence team practically started to win, thanks to a goal by Argentine striker Nicolas González, assisted by French midfielder Jonathan Ikone, after just three minutes, but Inter turned the score around in the first half.
Two goals from Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, in the 29th and 37th minutes, the first following a pass from Croatian Marcelo Brozovic, and the second following a cross from Nicolo Barella, consummated the comeback.
In the second half, Fiorentina were always on top of the game, but did not have the efficiency that Inter showed in the first half.
