Klopp dismisses Allen exit rumors

Even after performing at a high level this summer at the Euros, Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen is expected to stay with the Reds despite rumors linking him to other clubs in Europe. In past seasons it was said that his former manager Brendan Rodgers was pushing for Allen to leave the English club and travel to Scotland in order to play for Celtic. But all those are just rumors, manager Jurgen Klopp doesn't seem too pleased when the press asks him about it.

Klopp said: "There is nothing about this and all the transfer rumors. We cannot comment because we couldn't do anything else all day if we did, so we shouldn't start with this. I feel good [about Allen]. I like the guy and I really think he is a wonderful football player: I knew this before the European Championships, I saw it during the Euros and I know it now. I have said all I can say about this. It is all about respecting contracts, negotiating or not - whatever - and make a transfer or not. But is it nothing to discuss in public but I've not seen him since the middle of May in Basle [at the Europa League final], sadly."

Klopp will need all the good players he can get in order to attempt to compete at the highest level in a season where many English clubs have signed world class managers and many incredible players. Klopp's methods are a bit different than the others', his intention is to sign very talented players who are unknown because of the Reds' limited budget. But that doesn't mean that he won't produce a team that can be as good as the ones with the biggest income.
