Everton FC was more than pleased with the point they managed to salvage against Manchester United this past Sunday. After falling behind due to a Zlatan goal, the Toffies weren't able to score the equalizer throughout the whole match, but a mistake made by Belgian midfielder Fellaini who played for Everton for many years, was the reason Baines managed to get that point from the spot. Despite the poor performance, Dutch manager Ronald Koeman believes that Everton deserved that point.
Talking to the BBC, Koeman said: "We deserved a point, it's a fair result. Maybe United had more ball possession but didn't create chances in the first half. We showed belief and commitment at 1-0 down and the least we deserved was a point. The performance was better than last week. We are strong, physically good to fight to the last second and it was well deserved."
He added to Sky Sports: "I think the whole team performance was positive. From the start of the game we showed good organization, we made it difficult for United to create something. The boys showed great belief in the second half and one point is really the minimum we deserve from this game. At 1-0 down we took a risk with the substitutes, ending with four strikers, but we made it difficult. De Gea had maybe one or two unbelievable saves. It's the right result."
