Les Rouges, who earned their first World Cup point, win and knockout victory during the tournament, created chances but were undone by errors and the absence of Alphonso Davies, sidelined with a hamstring issue. Marsch praised the team’s intensity, claiming Canada dominated the seventh‑ranked Moroccans in the first half and looked likelier to score early in the second.
He said Morocco’s opener shifted the match, allowing the North Africans to sit deeper as Canada chased the game. Marsch urged his squad to treat the campaign as a springboard, challenging them to maintain their new standards and build a stronger identity.
