Marseille improves its record with another away victory

Olympique de Marseille improved their chances of playing in the Champions League next season with a 1-0 win against Stade Rennais in Ligue 1 on Sunday thanks to a goal from Sead Kolasinac in the second half.

With 55 points from 26 games, OM is now in second position, eight points behind Paris St. Germain but four points ahead of AS Monaco in third. OM has performed better away from home this season and this recent win proves just that. Igor Tudor's club was content to wait it out against a lackluster Rennes, putting a humiliating quarterfinal elimination from the French Cup against a Ligue 2 team and a 3-0 loss to PSG behind them. In another match, Ike Ugbo's injury-time equalizer held Monaco, who had led 2-1 against Troyes after a late Wissam Ben Yedder double, to a 2-2 tie and gave them the goal difference over fourth-placed RC Lens. In fifth place with 46 points following OM's seventh back-to-back away win, is Rennes.
