It's a given, Colombian manager Juan Carlos Osorio is exactly what Mexico needed in order to convince all the critics. Since the last friendly match and the last World Cup Qualifiers in November against El Salvador and Honduras, the Mexican squad hasn't allowed a single goal with Osorio as the manager. This version of Mexico has convinced every single critic that was shooting at the National Team, their victory against Canada this Friday just confirmed the good form they have right now.
The first half was good enough for them to secure the victory, the first goal came from Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez who is only three goals shy from the all-time goal scoring record held by Jared Borgetti with his 46 goals. Hernandez connected a perfect Layun cross from the left with a potent header placed in the top corner in the 31st minute. Eight minutes later surprise lined-up player Hirving Lozano scored a top class finish after a fast paced run with a finish that plunged into the top corner. This 2-0 victory gave Osorio and the team the necessary tranquility to manage the rest of the second half.
Already on the second half, Mexico allowed Canada to maneuver a little bit more without really scaring them too much, this showed Osorio's amazing ability to read the game and respect the adversary in crucial moments. In order to secure the result, Jesus 'Tecatito' Corona scored a great goal with a dribble inside the box included that gave Mexico the final 3-0 victory. There is no doubt that Mexico is the strongest team in the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers, especially after the United States unexpected defeat at Guatemala. The Americans lost 2-0 this Friday as well.
This victory gives Mexico and all the Mexicans the needed confidence everybody had been asking for in the last years, there is no doubt that Mexico will play an important role in the upcoming Copa America in the United states this summer. At this level, Mexico can compete with the very best in the tournament, this includes Neymar's Brazil, Luis Suarez's Uruguay, Alexis Sanchez's Chile and even Lionel Messi's Argentina.
