James Rodriguez had a troubled season with Real Madrid, despite having won the Champions League, he was practically underused with both Zidane and Rafael Benitez and he is currently considering on leaving the club. People in his native Colombia are divided with this, because half of them consider that James should go to a new team because they don't want him in Real Madrid, whereas the other half thinks he should prove his worth and fight for a spot next season. We don't know what James will do, but this is what two authorized Colombia voices have to say about the situation.
Talking to WIN Sports, Panama manager Hernan Gomez said that the best thing for James is to look fortune somewhere else because Zidane doesn't want him: "I'll give James some advice. It's best for him to go to another team because it's been shown that the man doesn't want to play him. He's a world-class player and he would have to go to another team... it's a very personal concept, he's our idol and we want to see him play, but this 'boss' won't put him in. I don't like it."
Talking to Cadena Ser, Colombian legend Faustino Asprilla supports James to stay in Madrid and fight for a spot: "If I was James I would stay in Real Madrid and fight for a place in the starting eleven. If we analyzed it better, Zidane's Madrid has really good stats, they shortened the gap with Barcelona and won the Champions League but they still haven't convinced the Madridistas. Real Madrid hasn't played very well, that is why James should play more. He has top quality and could easily play in any position on the attack."
"People at Real Madrid haven't realized yet that he is only 24 years old and he has done a lot of things for his short age. His season wasn't all that bad for the little minutes he had. He gave good assists and scored few but really good goals as well. It all depends on what Zidane wants for next season at the end, but we are all expecting James can prove his worth. I have no doubts about James' football and commitment, he's a young lad."
