Newcastle Bournemouth  1-1 draw

Dango Ouattara's stoppage-time goal against Newcastle United on Sunday was reversed after a VAR review, denying Bournemouth a thrilling victory. Marcus Tavernier's first-half opener put the Cherries ahead, but they should have won at the Vitality Stadium since they dominated their first home Premier League match of the season.

With 14 minutes remaining, however, Anthony Gordon tied the score, igniting a wild finish in which both teams almost won all three points. Substitute Ouattara appeared to have the final word, but his attempt was disqualified for hurting his arm. Eddie Howe, the former manager of Bournemouth, has yet to defeat his former team in the Premier League, but he would have been happy to salvage a point that puts Newcastle close to the leaders as the Cherries continue their losing streak. The ruling that kept Ouattara out infuriated Bournemouth, but they should have won long before that stoppage-time drama.
