Even though they were reduced to 10 men in the 78th minute of Sunday's match against Chelsea, Nottingham Forest managed to hold off the hosts in an often frantic Premier League match that included several second-half opportunities and a scuffle on the pitch. The result was a 1-1 draw. Following a plodding first half in which Chelsea was kept at bay by the visitors' well-organized defense, Forest took the lead in the 50th minute when a trademark James Ward-Prowse free kick found defender Nikola Milenkovic at the back post. The Serbian nodded the ball across goal, and Chris Wood scored with a tap.
The match got underway quickly, and after only six minutes Chelsea took advantage of a rare weakness in Forest's well-drilled defense when the industrious Noni Madueke grabbed onto a pass from Cole Palmer, cut inside, and fired it into the bottom corner.
