Crystal Palace claimed the first European trophy in their history with a 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano in the UEFA Conference League final in Leipzig, sealed by Jean‑Philippe Mateta’s close‑range finish early in the second half. After a cautious opening period, Palace broke through when Wharton’s driven effort was parried into Mateta’s path, allowing the French striker to convert the rebound.
