Liverpool's performance in this match compared to their midweek loss at Everton was marginally better, but they still lost two more points in their continuous late-season collapse. Subpar defending from the reds led to a West Ham equalizer. This was the Reds' fourth game in ten days, and Klopp had again mixed things up. Due to their subpar performances over the week, Salah and Nunez were benched once more, hence Gakpo and Diaz served as Liverpool's main offensive players.
For a significant portion of the game, Liverpool had the upper hand, but two minutes before halftime, the brilliant Jarrod Bowen scored which lead to cheers from the London Stadium. Reds made no halftime substitutions, yet they still mounted a comeback. Andy Robertson scored one a few minutes into the second half and was shortly followed by the Hammers' goalie and Tomas Soucek's hilarious own goal. Liverpool’s lead was shortlived as Antonio equalized and once more pointed out Liverpool's overall defensive shortcomings which has plagued them this year.
