Rummenigge won't pay a crazy wage to Lewandowski

As many top class managers keep telling us, the summer transfer window is far from over and we are entering the last month with a great deal of suspense as the days keep passing by. We have until August 31st for all the transfers to be completed, history tells us that some of the most exciting players and talents tend to move until the very last day of the window. That's why until that last day of the month, everybody will be really nervous for what could happen.

On the Bayern Munich front, there seems to be a problem with Robert Lewandowski and the kind of money he is asking for a raise. It appears that his agent is demanding a similar wage to the one that stars from the richest sides in Europe are demanding, this has come to light in the local media by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge who doesn't seem happy with the striker's demands and may end up being a problem for the club. So keep your eyes wide open for the rest of the month because Real Madrid will do everything they can until the last moment to get the Polish striker.

Talking to Bild, Rummenigge said that: "We have had a number of meetings with Lewandowski's agents. We are ready to renew his contract. We will definitely not sell him. But we have always been willing to change a player's contract if the situation or his value changes. We will not be paying the kind of wages on offer at Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, though. We are paying some very good wages, but those clubs are paying crazy figures. You do not win more trophies [by paying such wages] anyway."
