Shevchenko worried about AC Milan's future

Apart from the cases of Juventus and AS Roma who are attempting to get back to their old glory days, the teams from Milano are the ones that are still in debt with football. Their rich history can't make them perform at the dismal and sad level they have been performing in the past five years, since Inter won the Champions League back in 2010 and Milan won the Serie A in 2012, none of the Milan teams have proved why they are considered as some of the biggest clubs in the world.

Long gone are the days when the Milano Derby was just as filled with excitement as Spain's El Clasico is today. This tradition is something that urgently needs to get recovered in Italian football, both sides are soon to be purchased by Chinese investors and hopefully they can get back to their best versions in a few years. But for club legend such as Andriy Shevchenko or Paolo Maldini, the main problem is that the club is managed by people who know very little about football.

Scheva support's Maldini's claims: "When Paolo speaks out you always pay attention. The results speak for themselves. If you don't achieve your goals there is something wrong. Maybe he knows the situation more than I do. I respect his opinion and agree that there is something wrong with the club.  Lots of mistakes have been made in the past. When a club fails to qualify for the Champions League for several years and cannot find the right balance on the pitch for so long that means it's not just the players fault, maybe there are bigger issues inside the club.

"I still love Milan, this is my family. I have the utmost respect for the club, the president and mostly the fans. We'll have to wait and see what happens. I'm very sad that president [Silvio] Berlusconi has decided maybe to leave the club but he knows what he's doing. He will always do what is best for the players, for the club. I'm sure he's thinking long and hard about what to do and if selling is the right choice. Let's wait and see."
