Spain massacres Liechtenstein

This Monday was the perfect day for Julen Lopetegui who opened up his journey as the Spain boss with a friendly victory against Belgium last week, this time he had to play the first official match of the Lopetegui era. His team of choice included a highly offensive side which was expected to give a good performance against a modest Liechtenstein, this would be a true goal-fest for the ages. All Spain did was dominate throughout the 90 minutes.

The always controversial Diego Costa started as the main striker and opened the score with an on point header after a corner kick on the 10th minute. It took Spain a whole 45 minutes to get the second goal already in the second half, it was Nolito's amazing vision that gave Sergi Roberto the chance to get his goal and open a can of whoop-ass on the visiting team.

Four minutes later, David Silva got to score after a Vitolo cross from the right. Just a minute later, Silva returned the courtesy to Vitolo for his goal. Costa got his brace after a failed attempt that bounced off the goalkeeper, he got to head the rebound in for Spain's 5-0. The Brazilian left the field to give Alvaro Morata a few minutes to play, the Real Madrid product responded with an amazing three-minute brace between minutes 80 and 83. Silva would close the battering with another goal from outside the field on the last minute, it was 8-0 and everybody in Spain was happy with this performance.
