Making the move from a league in which the ball moves at a slower rate than arguably the fastest paced competition in the world is not easy, especially for a player who usually had the time to enjoy the ball at his feet and think what to do with it for a few more seconds. Things are much different for Paul Pogba now that he arrived in England from Italy's Serie A, the pressure of being the most expensive player in the world and trying to take on the most competitive league in the world adds an extra difficulty level to his challenge.
But for compatriot legendary midfielder Patrick Vieira, Pogba can deal with such as daunting task no problem. However, Vieira thinks that Pogba should slow down a little bit and think about the best way to approach this because he could fail dismally if he doesn't clear his mind. At the last match against Southampton, it was evident that Pogba was nervous and that he needed to take a breath after every single moment he touched the ball. The quicker he realizes that he isn't in Italy anymore, the better.
Vieira told the Mirror that: "I'm a massive fan of Pogba. I think he's a fantastic player, no doubt about it. But at the same time I believe the Premier League is different, and there will be a lot of pressure on his shoulders because of the price tag and expectation. He will have to find the right balance because if he thinks he will win games by himself that will be a massive mistake for him. If he tries to do something that he can't do that will be a massive mistake as well. I read something interesting from [United manager Jose] Mourinho that he will win as much as Messi or Ronaldo.
"If people are expecting him to score 40 goals a season, that will not be the case, but he can make a difference with his physical and technical ability. He needs to find the right balance and do what he can best and not try to play as somebody else. There are some good players around, strong characters around him, who can help him to perform at his best. Ibrahimovic, the way I know him, will be a really good person to help him to find the way and perform the way he can. He will have no choice anyway but to listen to him! He will help him because he's a fantastic team-mate."
