Vincent Kompany ‘accepts’ Arsenal defeat

Arsenal delivered a commanding performance to hand Bayern Munich their first defeat of the season, securing a decisive 3-1 Champions League victory at the Emirates Stadium. This impressive result officially ended the German champions’ notable eighteen-game unbeaten run while simultaneously confirming Arsenal’s status as the competition's only team possessing a perfect record following five consecutive group-stage wins.

Bayern manager Vincent Kompany refused to offer excuses, candidly admitting his side were second best. He acknowledged Arsenal’s superiority, emphasizing the immediate need to improve before their next fixture.

Similarly, former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry echoed these sentiments, noting that the visitors struggled to cope with the hosts' intense pressure, particularly during a barrage of corner kicks. Gnabry conceded that Bayern created very little during the second half, ultimately accepting that the Gunners fully deserved the three points in a match where the Premier League side dominated the proceedings from start to finish.
