Feyenoord have identified Giovanni van Bronckhorst as a leading candidate for their vacant technical director position, with the club exploring the possibility of bringing back the former player and manager. According to the Daily Mail’s Lewis Steele, Feyenoord have not yet approached Liverpool, where Van Bronckhorst currently serves as assistant to Arne Slot, but the 106‑cap Netherlands international is open to discussions. Van Bronckhorst played 249 matches for Feyenoord and later guided them to five trophies, including the 2017 Eredivisie title, their first in eighteen years.
The Rotterdam club are seeking a successor to Dennis te Kloese, who is set to depart after combining CEO duties with the technical director role since 2022. Van Bronckhorst joined Liverpool in 2025 on a two‑year deal after spells managing Besiktas, Rangers, Guangzhou R&F and Feyenoord, winning seven trophies and reaching the 2022 Europa League final with Rangers.
