Fifa decided not to confirm previewed sanctions for Al Nassr

Following a transfer ban imposed last Friday, FIFA has officially lifted the sanction this Monday. This decision allows the club, currently led by coach Jorge Jesus and featuring Portuguese stars Cristiano Ronaldo and João Félix, to register new players once again.

According to reports from Al-Riyadiah, the punishment stemmed from an outstanding €9 million debt owed to Manchester City regarding Aymeric Laporte’s 2023 transfer. The failure to settle this amount by August 31 triggered the penalty, a familiar scenario for the Riyadh side. Similarly, in 2023, they faced a ban over market irregularities, resolved by a €2 million fine.

While this latest sanction was indefinite, Al Nassr settled the pending dues within 72 hours, restoring their market freedom. Laporte, signed for €27 million in 2023, spent two years with Ronaldo before returning to European football with Athletic Bilbao last summer.
