If Eden Hazard is looking to get signed by Real Madrid next summer, he may want to think about completing a truly amazing European Championship with Belgium and also finishing this current season on a high note with Chelsea. The current season was a real disaster for the Blues, Hazard was supposed to be that star player he was last year but he was nowhere near the player who won the PFA Player of the Year trophy and the Premier League for the Blues. One can even assume that he had a lot to do with Jose Mourinho's sacking.
But last Monday at the London Derby between Chelsea and Tottenham, we were able to catch a small glimpse of that Eden Hazard who wowed the world last season. He seemed to recover that sprint he got so famous for, and he scored a truly beautiful goal which ended up giving Leicester City the Premier League championship. But for manager Guus Hiddink, Hazard needs to prove more than what he did last Monday, he needs to become more regular in each game he plays.
Talking at a news conference this Friday, Hiddink said: "I think Eden has a long road ahead to reach the same form as in 2014-15 again. It will take long for him to be at the level of someone who could win the Ballon d'Or again. He needs to be more consistent like the big players in La Liga. Players like Messi, Ronaldo and [Andres] Iniesta are under a lot of pressure, but they are enjoying it.
"He has a long road ahead to approach that same level. Players like Eden are gifted. They love to play football when the conditions are right and there are no physical problems. The biggest players out there love to play like amateurs and Eden needs to start playing like an amateur again as well."
