It was an eventful week in Munich. Thomas Tuchel's depleted side headed to Mönchengladbach to face die Fohlen in what has been a disastrous encounter for the Reds in recent years. Tuchel didn't make many changes to his lineup for the game, but he still received outstanding results.
Gladbach took the lead in the 30th minute when a corner was headed onto Kou Itakura. Sané, on the other hand, tied the game in the 58th minute when Kimmich threw a beautiful pass to the winger, who took it down smartly and scored to make it 1-1. Finally, Bayern grabbed the lead in the 87th minute through Mathys Tel from a corner from Kimmich, guiding the Munich side to a 1-2. It's no secret that Gladbach has long been a thorn in Bayern's side. So much so that three points from a game against them seems monumental in terms of the season. It wasn't Bayern's best match, but given the circumstances, it was a very encouraging effort.
