Pizzi is surprised for Mexico's defeat

It was one of those night when you know that your rival is completely out of his element, the Chilean national team played their game as they were always going to do it, but they certainly didn't expect the lack of reaction from the Mexican National team. Even more so because before the game, Chile was expecting one of the most competitive sides in the tournament but at the end they were just a cartoonish version of what was expected.

However it may be, manager Juan Antonio Pizzi was very happy for reaching the Copa America Centenario semifinals and was wildly surprised with the way the game unfolded. He also took some time to acknowledge each and every one of the world class players he coaches, giving a special shout out to Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal, who completely owned Mexico pretty much by himself in that area of the field.

Pizzi told the press that: "Let's enjoy this moment and then we will think of Colombia. I'm very happy. It's not easy being the coach of a team that manages to capture superiority on the field as we did today, and especially against an opponent of [Mexico's] level in a decisive stage of an international tournament of great prestige. The feeling we have is a lot of happiness. This group of players has been writing the brightest page of Chilean football, and hopefully we can keep adding leaves to that book. Arturo Vidal is one of the best players in the world."
