Premier League relegation battle gets heated up

The Premier League's last fixture will certainly be something to behold, as we stand today after this evening Saturday matches, Norwich City hav already sealed their relegation alongside Aston Villa. The interesting part will be between Sunderland and Newcastle United, both still have a shot at redemption and the last Premier League match of the season will decide who stays and who leaves. The Magpies gave Sunderland a chance to take their place after they weren't able to get past a goalless draw at Villa Park this Saturday.

But the real surprise came at the Stadium of Light as Sunderland defeated Chelsea in a truly amazing match where Fabio Borini and Jermain Defoe were the heroes of the night. They came back from a 2-1 result and turned the match around with two second half goals. This victory gives them 35 points and puts them just out of relegation behind Newcastle's 34 units. Everything will be decided next week as Newcastle gets Tottenham Hotspur's visit and Sunderland travel to Watford looking for a new chance in the Premier League.

After the draw, Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez was disappointed for letting this golden chance go. He knows that the last fixture will be the most difficult of all because they are playing against one of the top dogs in the tournament this season.
