In the wake of a new season that's about to start, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is still deciding on which players he will keep inside the team and which ones he will let go. The general consensus is that midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is set to exit the club this summer because of the overbooking in the midfield department inside the Red Devils. The German international is at the end of his competitive career and should be looking for a proper retirement destination.
His choices could be linked to the MLS or some other country where they pay him top cash and he can enjoy his last years as a professional like the star that he is. But according to Karl-Heinz Rummenigge who knows Bastian quite well, the player is not thinking about moving from the Red Devils just yet. Karl is convinced that far from trying to retire in the Bundesliga, Bastian wants to go out with a bang and a fantastic last season for Manchester United.
Talking to TZ, Rummenigge said: "I am 100 per cent convinced that Schweinsteiger will not return to Germany. Bayern Munich are his club and he would never play for another Bundesliga club. I would be hugely surprised if that were to happen. I can see him stay at Manchester United and try to achieve their goals under a new coach. Maybe he could surprise Mourinho. Either way, Bastian has had an amazing career. Nothing can change that."
