Stephen Constantine has been officially introduced as Rwanda’s new head coach on a two‑year renewable deal, marking his second spell in charge of the Amavubi. The 63‑year‑old replaces Adel Amrouche, dismissed in January after less than a year at the helm. Amrouche had succeeded German coach Torsten Spittler, who departed in late 2024.
FERWAFA described Constantine’s appointment as a strategic step toward reinforcing the nation’s football structures and elevating Rwanda’s competitiveness across Africa and beyond. The federation confirmed he will assume his duties on Monday, March 16, 2026, working closely with the current technical team to prepare for the upcoming FIFA Series Tournament scheduled later this month in Kigali.
In its announcement, FERWAFA expressed strong confidence in Constantine’s leadership and urged supporters, partners, and stakeholders to rally behind the national team during what it called a “transformative phase.” Further details on his technical roadmap will be presented at a press conference next week.
