For every single FC Barcelona club member, letting Claudio Bravo go and leaving Ter Stegen in his place was the best group decision they could've made. The Chilean's scary performance which cost Manchester City the victory was truly terrifying for the English supporters, even the press from the isles is harshly criticizing the South American goalie for that handball he committed out of the box.
But for German goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen who shared a locker room with Bravo, all the criticism is unfair. He told beIN Sport that: "Bravo and I talked about other things, but in the end these are things that happen - that's life for the goalkeeper. This happens sometimes but [in the long term there is] no problems for him or for his team. Until the red card we had problems. At first it was a very difficult match, but we were finally able to make a lot of goals. For us it was very good."
The German also talked about Messi's importance on the team: "Leo Messi is very important to us, to our way of playing, but we also have many players who can score and move the ball. We have one of the best teams in the world, but you have to prove it every week."
