A £50 million deal for Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus was turned down by West Ham United, which put a halt to Tottenham Hotspur's hopes of signing him. Spurs made the bid last week, but the former Europa League winners rejected it right away because they value Kudus far more.
Due to his technical skill, strength, and mobility on the front line, Kudus, who scored eight Premier League goals the previous season, has attracted interest. West Ham still thinks he can consistently score in double figures. Spurs also considered a deal for Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth but decided against it because of the £65 million asking price. Any possible transfer was further put on hold on Monday when the Cherries announced that Semenyo had agreed to a new five-year contract. It is believed that Kudus is amenable to joining the Spurs.
