Wolves lose 6-0 against Brighton

Deniz Undav, Pascal Gross, and Danny Welbeck all scored twice as Brighton & Hove Albion thrashed a hapless Wolverhampton Wanderers 6-0 on Saturday in the Premier League. This was the Seagulls' best win in the top division. After a week in which his club fell 3-1 to struggling Nottingham Forest in the league and lost on penalties to Manchester United in the FA Cup semifinals, the victory was a welcome lift for manager Roberto de Zerbi.

With the win, De Zerbi's team remained in eighth place but closed the gap to seventh-place Liverpool to one point with one game remaining. This propelled Brighton back into the race for Europe. The Seagulls are also two points behind Tottenham Hotspur in fifth position and sixth-place Aston Villa, both of whom have played two more games than them. Wolves, with 37 points, remained 13th in the standings.
