Although two of Germany's main veterans have just said goodbye to the national team, there is absolutely no doubt that there are players who are suitable to replace them. Toni Kroos is one of them, his work at Real Madrid in the last couple of years has been top notch. Thomas Muller has made sure no one even remembers Podolski with his large amount of goals scored in World Cups, this leaves the recently departed players at ease.
Kroos also has the support of another great midfielder such as Ilkay Gundogan, he has been injured for the past year or so but seems to be recovering quickly and will be of great use for Germany after Pep Guardiola manages to take the best out of him. Toni Kroos explained this in his last media conference ahead of this Sunday's World Cup qualifier at Norway.
He spoke to the German Football Association's website that: "I do not think it will take long. The situation is also not new to us. After each tournament, it is so that two or three players are no longer there. And we were always able to absorb this. This time Basti and Lukas have stopped; of course, they leave a gap. But it is not that we have eliminated so many game minutes - both were important for the team, but Luke has recently played less and less, and Bastian had much to contend with injuries. This means there is not much of an extreme change for us as a team."
