Modest Heidenheim beat Werder Bremen 4-2

Against their previous team, Eren Dinkçi scored twice on Sunday, and Jan-Niklas Beste added the winning goal to excite the majority of the 15,000 spectators in the sold-out stadium of promoted Heidenheim. On his 16th anniversary as Heidenheim coach, Frank Schmidt remarked, "I already said in the buildup that if we win the game today, then the team would overshadow everything with the result."

Tim Kleindienst scored the game's first goal with a penalty kick in the fifth minute, and Dinkçi immediately set out on a counterattack to make it 2-0. Early in the second half, Mitchell Weiser ultimately equalised the score for Bremen by heading in the rebound of Marwin Ducksch's saved penalty. Bremen missed many more golden opportunities before Mitchell Weiser's goal. However, Dinkçi wasn't done yet. Four minutes later, Beste crossed for him, and he scored once again with a low shot inside the right post.
