What a magical night for Liverpool FC, after having tied the first leg at Signal Iduna Park, today's game was destined to become one of those amazing European games in history. Liverpool had Borussia Dortmund in front, perhaps two of the most exciting sides in European football today for their fighting spirit. But nothing messes up with Jurgen Klopp's zen, he gives his players a sense of responsibility and commitment that only Diego Simeone can give his players as well.
Not even two early goals from Dortmund on the 6th and 9th minutes were going to knock them down. The first one came after Mignolet saved an Aubameyang shot that Mkhitaryan managed to tuck in for the away team's first of the night. Three minutes later, Aubameyang took a through ball from Reus and gave Dortmund the 2-0 lead. It was a nightmare for Liverpool and all the fans, they couldn't believe their eyes, but Klopp wasn't going to give up and during half time he worked his magic on the players.
Right after the second half whistle, Origi latched on to a through pass and coolly slipped the ball in under Weidenfeller for the Reds' first goal, but there was still a lot to go. Dortmund would put things even more difficult as Hummels strode forward and slipped in a pass to Reus who side footed into the far corner on the 57th minute of the match. But the Reds and Klopp never give up, they gave everyone a show of true courage as they held their ground and fought for that turn around with everything they had.
Ten minutes after Dortmund's third goal, Liverpool kept the ball around the Dortmund box and worked it to Coutinho, who fired in a fine low shot to the bottom corner from outside. The miracle was possible and Klopp's celebrations kept getting more and more intense. On the 78th minutes, Liverpool tied the game 3-3 after Coutinho's corner was flicked on to Sakho, who diverted the ball home to level on the night. But Dortmund's away goals pushed Liverpool to get the winner, which they searched with everything they had on the last ten minutes.
All of Anfield was pushing the team, Borussia Dortmund were really overwhelmed for all the support and the whole stadium against them. The final minute was the tipping point of a thrilling night, it was Dejan Lovren's header which gave the Reds the ticket to the semifinals and nearly gave Klopp a coronary. This night will be remembered at Anfield, as one of the most vibrant matches in Liverpool's history and it's all thanks to Jurgen Klopp. What a manager!
