Southampton ends Everton’s winning streak

Everton coach Carlo Ancelotti calls the decision of referee Kevin Friend a joke which saw Lucas Digne being send off the field with a red card, which leads Premier League leaders' first defeat of the season with 2-0 against Southampton. Everton had won eight matches back to back this season across competition but a lethargic effort at St Mary's Stadium proved a costly affair for Everton. Ancelotti's side conceded its first goal in the first half to James Ward-Prowse while Che Adams managed to grab one more before the break. Everton lacked its important players with Richarlison’s suspension and Seamus Coleman injured, the send of Lucas Digne put Everton in a tight spot. Southampton’s score is just as perfect with 3losses in 13 matches they climbed to first place with this three-point win.
